URO, AUTUMN/WINTER 2017-18 SHOW
La Condesa / Fall Winter 2017-2018 Full Fashion Show / Exclusive from LaCondesa on Vimeo.
"Ouroboros are dragons that tend to devour themselves because they put their tail in their mouth to form a circular figure. They represent the cyclical nature of life, eternal effort and struggle, and the rebirth of changing energies. Then I saw it clearly: my collection would be called URO and would be the union of these animals with gold, which is our corporate color. And our script would be the Dracula directed by Francis Ford Coppola, who told his costume designer, Japanese artist Eiko Ishioka: 'The costumes must be the scenery'."
"For the fabrics, I was inspired by the four animals from the film: the wolf, the snake, the eagle, and the dragon. At La Condesa, we only work with the skin of animals we consume, and we also have a factory in Portugal that reproduces these textures in premium quality. The dragon, for example, is represented in the form of rich embroidery, and with velvet, we achieve the stiffness of animal hair; we also acquire prints, although others we develop ourselves with heraldic motifs. I have leaned heavily towards red fabrics to convey the passionate atmosphere of the entire collection, without forgetting the laces and tulles, which gave that erotic touch to the script."

"I was very clear that I was looking for a decadent image, but, as in the rest of the collection, with a romantic, sumptuous, and at the same time, dark air, though also rich and luxurious, so we decided to cover the hair with gold leaf and finish it in small low updos. On the hands, we have incorporated long nails, reinforced with precious stones, very striking and suggestive. For the face, we added lace pieces with golden applications, so that the models can appear somewhere between beastly and human."
