SPRING IS COMING, PARIS LAS VEGAS IS COMING

This collection is named after two cities where light is a rather distinctive and particular element in each of them: Paris and Las Vegas. These perfectly opposite cities were the ideal setting for the creative outpouring of the late 60s in North America and the unrest that swept through the streets of Paris, leading to one of the most important cultural evolution processes of the second half of the 20th century in the European capital.

They are the ideal and dreamed-of place for many mortals to fulfill their dreams and fantasies, but we all know that many times they fall by the wayside. One of the sources of inspiration when creating the creative and imaginary universe of this collection was "Insert Coins," the photographic series that photographer Christian Lutz carried out in the most unexpected corners of the streets of Nevada's capital. The photographer first set foot in Las Vegas in the winter of 2011, at the height of the crisis, and saw that behind the imposing neon lights and dazzling facades lay another reality.

After that first impact between what was imagined and what was really happening, Lutz kept returning to Las Vegas every summer for the next three years, to immortalize the less beautiful side of the city at night and capture the reality of the unfulfilled American dream. People who fantasized about shining in the shows of its big casinos, becoming a local celebrity, and who unfortunately end up barely surviving on its streets.

This inspiration led us to create the story of our fashion show, in which beautiful provincial girls arrived at the Miss Nevada contest with the idea of one day being crowned the new Miss United States and wishing for peace in the world for all living beings, but who ultimately ended up as dancers in Sin City. As actions speak louder than words, there's nothing better than remembering our wonderful fashion show at the September 2016 edition of MFShow.
