Croquette
I couldn't let the year end without telling you about the most important event I attended last Christmas, and of which I had the honor of being a jury member: The third Croquette Festival. Riquísimos Awards 2008

Yes, you heard that right. Three years ago, this peculiar woman had the brilliant idea of organizing a croquette contest, and ever since, she gathers everyone important in Badajoz to objectively award the best croquette in the city. It's no longer enough to boast that your grandmother makes wonderful ones or your mother makes amazing ones; here, you have to prove it with a blind tasting.

Pantalón/ Trouser: Zara
Bolso / Bag: Hazel (gracias Jaime!)
Pañuelo / Scarf: vintage (grandmother's)
Chaqueta / Jacket: Pink by Victoria's Secret
Blusa de satén / Satin blouse: Burberry (Stolen from my mother's closet)
Camisa de cuadros / Tartan shirt: Ralph Lauren (Stolen from my mother's closet)
I love it because croquettes are one of my favorite dishes, and I have a personal mental map of where they make really good ones. In this competition, I'll tell you that the gold croquette was made with dates + bacon + candied onion (believe it or not, it was delicious) and the silver one was tuna (the best for me). The standard was very high. Congratulations to the participants and especially to the organizer. Thanks, Isa, for the photo.
And forgive me for the psychedelic post-Christmas photo of the outfit I wore. I just discovered Photobucket and I can't stop playing around and putting stickers on photos. Anything to avoid thinking that I'm going back to work tomorrow. Although, maybe it's good for me and I'll stop rambling...
