Smooth sailing

Two weeks without updating in terms of blogs is equivalent to an induced coma... sorry for not giving notice, but I'm still alive. It's true that last week I was more of a vegetable than a person, but on Saturday I went to get myself cracked alive from my big toe to my ears and, although at times I feared for my life (there's a sadomasochist inside every physiotherapist), I have revived. Woohoo!!!

Well, before moving on to other topics, I'd like to tell you that the launch event went well, very well, what am I saying, extremely well! It was a very special day, I got to meet new followers, talk to those I already knew and even recall faces I hadn't seen in a long time. And contact with customers is FUNDAMENTAL for them to tell you what they like, what they don't, why... those moments are valuable, valuable.

We started with a lot of nerves because you never know if people will actually come or prefer the sofa, luckily we woke up to a spectacular day.

I've never talked about this but I'd like to mention that my logo and corporate image are beautiful. There! It's rude for me to say it, but it's a design by Rafael Celda, a mother cracker of graphic design whom I met some time ago at an event and who has ended up being a kind of guardian angel. What he has done with the La Condesa brand is truly beautiful. On top of that, he chose white, black... and 100% magenta as corporate colors. Pffft! I LOVE it.

We continue, pastries, macarons, lollipops, cupcakes... all from Vailima (General Pardiñas 54), accompanied by white wine and rosé champagne, as it should be.

Carmen mother and Carmen daughter, owners of the 2 de Abril store and the most charming women you can imagine. What a joy to prepare the event with them, everything was made easy, calm and with good taste.

The first customers caught us still arranging the balloons at the entrance and shortly after, the first bloggers started to arrive. First Estefanía, who was one of my first clients in the beginning and undoubtedly one of my best ambassadors. Pay attention to the fact that the lady grabbed the phone and sold me a jacket in Barcelona, just like that, like a fashion broker on an air shuttle. What this woman handles is truly powerful.
Next to her, her husband Federico, who now that I think about it, HE was the client, how great, and I love it when he comes because if it were up to him, Estefanía would have my complete sample collection in her closet. Husbands who accompany you shopping are ideal to say... "just buy it, woman, and if you like both, take both, you'll definitely wear them" when you're doubting.

The best part is that they came accompanied by their daughter Marta, who is absolutely beautiful. What a pretty thing, the Consort wanted to kidnap her and I couldn't stop touching her hair because I haven't had hair that soft even when I made my first communion. As soon as I have a little free time, I'm going to try to make a mini jacket for mini Marta, I'll let you know if I succeed.

Lady B also came with another beautiful creature and Mika-style curls, but we'll keep her identity a secret as she wishes, and from here I send her a gigantic kiss for being so affectionate.

The Consort appeared and opened all the bottles of drinks, according to him because people were shy and he was very nervous, of course. It's incredible about this man, we get a ticket in the car, which was the only thing he had to take care of, and he still tells me it's my fault because he was taking care of the guests... what patience one has to have. But it's true that he gets half in labor, this time I was calmer because I had been weeks with the production but he... uhhh, as if it were a baptism.

Photobucket

It was very fun to see the jackets going from hand to hand, trying them on, and above all, reassuring to see that they pass the fitting room test. Again, it's rude for me to say it, but the jackets are prettier in person than in photos, especially because they fit very well. I'll guard that pattern like the Coca-Cola recipe.

This is the waistcoat that Anja Rubik wore; I'm very fond of it, so I've made another one for the sample collection, and this one I'll keep as a freak relic.

In the afternoon, everything calmed down and when there were no more pastries left, sorry girls, more bloggers came to visit. So lovely, thank you girls for overcoming the pull of the couch. Miss at la Playa, La Ratita Presumida and El blog de Moda were with me and I took the opportunity to tell them a little about the collection and try everything on.

Of course, there was the omnipresent La Condesa jacket in blue, red, several whites, green, and satin. As soon as I manage to take decent photos, I'll show them to you. They were the absolute stars along with the Jimy waistcoat; the new garments will have a hard time surpassing their brilliance.

As a novelty, I presented a collection of frock coats for next winter. This one is in denim with golden embellishments.

This waistcoat is my new favorite garment; it's a frock coat waistcoat in pale pink tailoring fabric with a lead-gray men's waistcoat lining. It drives me crazy. It also has a double collar system so you can choose to wear it with a mandarin collar, with a lapel, or with both at the same time.

In my hand I have the English riding coat that was made for Vogue; I'll wear it so you can see how good it looks with jeans. By the way, what I'm wearing is also new; it's a kind of frock coat-trench coat also with what I told you about the double collar; I don't know if it's well appreciated. I told everyone about it because it cost us quite a bit to make it in the pattern, but I don't know if the message fully sank in or if it came across more like you're being a bit tiresome about it.

More novelties, the capes. I have designed some capes with a reversible front flap that on one side is the same color as the cape and on the other with flowers or another color, etc., which you can wear however you want depending on your mood. I also have it in red and beige, I will take photos, I will take photos.
In the background, you can see some prototypes of dresses we brought, all small brand expansion projects that I'm considering but that for now don't distract from their cousins the jackets. I understand, little by little.

And so we reached the end, the day ended late and only when you close up does all the fatigue of the last few weeks finally hit you and you fall to the ground like a moth. To counteract it a bit, I took the balloons home with me because there's nothing in the world that makes me happier and I have to tell you that they have been my best investment in a long time; after almost 2 weeks they haven't deflated one cubic centimeter and they float around the ceiling of my house to make me happy. The Consort ties them to my feet when I take a nap and it's amazing to wake up and see them above me, hahaha.

I wanted to thank once again all the people who came to see me, friends, acquaintances, strangers, readers, followers... thank you. And very especially to the fellow bloggers who echoed the news and offered me their support, thank you guys.

La Ratita Presumida, Miss at la Playa, E-coolsystem, Mayte de la Iglesia, Fernando Mañas, Beatriz Vera, Xaviworld and many others have helped me along the way and offered their support when I needed it, so precisely THANK YOU.

I imagine that if a brand's communication manager sees this, they'll think... and this little girl... how does she get so much attention in blogs if I keep sending press releases and no one pays attention to me.... AAAYYY friend, but I (with a Serrat-like tone in the background) was boooorn in the blogospeeehere, I was boooorn in the blogospeeehere...

A thousand kisses,
La Condesa with a frock coat
