Graduation

Yesterday I attended a friend's graduation. It's funny because neither my Consort nor I went to our own graduations, yet we didn't hesitate for a moment to go to our friend's, our semi-adopted son. I remember I didn't go to mine because I was so, SO, fed up with my dear university that the last thing I wanted was to go and collect a hideous piece of felt while listening to sycophantic speeches. Now that I think about it, if they had made us wear a gown and cap, maybe I would have thought about it more, considering how much I love a cape.

Amidst a sea of dresses more suitable for a wedding than a graduation, I met this girl who was, without a doubt, the best dressed among all of us. This is how you go to a graduation, with feathers, sequins, and your hair blowing in the wind. A graduate in style, my dear.

And what about you? How were your graduations? Did you go? Are you one of those who think student life is the best time of your life? I studied engineering and wouldn't go back to school for anything. For those of you who have suffered severe wear and tear from studying, I tell you that NOW that you've graduated is when the best part begins. Nothing beats the first jobs where you don't have much responsibility yet and your salary seems like a fortune... that you spend in two weekends.

Hugs and congratulations to all of you who are celebrating the end of your studies.
