Give me your thoughts on the 2018 Met Gala

On a night when extravagance and almost-costumes are allowed, we have to let our imagination and fantasy run wild to choose the look we liked best from this MET Gala.

This year's theme, Fashion and Religion, promised a night of veils, crosses, and a certain baroque flair. The stars: Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Maison Margiela by John Galliano. And it was clear, their latest collections have a strong tendency towards the ornate and baroque.

Is there anything we like more at La Condesa than more is more? That's why this was our night.

Rihanna, from Barbados, chose a Maison Margiela by John Galliano look for the occasion and it didn't disappoint. The two-piece outfit, a mini-dress and an embroidered coat with pearls, leaves no one indifferent. The best part? The clear reference to the Church with her matching miter.

Actress Frances McDormand and her Valentino Couture drew inspiration from the Garden of Eden, an original and irreverent reference that captivated us. What is fashion without art?

Emilia Clarke, Daenerys Targaryen and Mother of Dragons in the acclaimed series Game of Thrones (we're fans!), embraced explicit Catholicism with a dress where cherubs played among clouds and golden embroidery. This fitted dress is by Dolce&Gabbana. The flaw? The sweetheart neckline.

Although she deviated a little from the theme, we can't help but idolize her. Blonde Blake Lively chose a long velvet dress with silver embroidery and transparencies, with a headdress imitating thorns. This design is by Atelier Versace, and they say she had to go to the Metropolitan Museum in a private bus because her dress wouldn't fit in a taxi.

And them? They triumphed too!

The American Hip-Hop group Migos made the right choice: Versace. For their reinterpretation of Catholicism, they opted for black pants and jackets with post-Renaissance prints.

Chadwick Boseman (Captain America or Gods of Egypt) also chose Versace for this night of fashion and worship. He combined a rigorously white tuxedo with a white cape decorated with golden crosses and beaded tassels, and many, many gold rings!

And finally, our revered Jared Leto in Gucci, who arrived accompanied by Lana del Rey and creative director Alessandro Michele. He appeared like a resurrection of Jesus, cheered on by his gigantic black velvet lapels and his stole printed with baroque motifs.

As lovers of decadent monarchy, champagne, and excess, we would have chosen a spectacular design combined with one of ours, perhaps the Máxima jacket? Well, coincidentally, it's back in stock!
