Nellcôte: velvet, glitter, and rock 'n' roll
#AlHablaElAmaDeLlaves
La Condesa's "Armada" landed at MFSHOW last February, transforming Madrid's Plaza de Colón into a neoclassical palace on the French Riviera, full of Rock 'n' Roll. To create the Autumn-Winter 16/17 collection, La Condesa was inspired, of course, by music. As an avid music lover, her designs couldn't miss the chords of "Their Satanic Majesties" The Rolling Stones.
Keith and his band had problems with the British tax authorities in the early 70s, and chose the South of France for their 'tax exile.' Keith and Anita Pallenberg temporarily rented an incredible Villa, called Nellcôte, which would later house all the band members and where they would record their famous album 'Exile on Main Street' in an almost handcrafted way. Here begins the inspiration, in that Villa, in those velvets, marbles, and satins that enveloped the Stones' heartbreaking chords for two years.
And of course, in the women who passed through the Palace... anyone who lives in a place like that must absorb aristocratic airs. And this, mixed with the excesses (we want to believe they were just Champagne) and the uncontrolled atmosphere, resulted in images like these:
Here are some images from the fashion show:

With the following suit, the inspiration was Bianca Jagger stepping off the plane in Saint Tropez, ready to marry Mick Jagger.

A stylish woman freshly awake after a wild night in one of Nellcôte's noble rooms.

For the entire staging, La Condesa featured the wonderful voice of Bebe. Thank you for filling the runway with power!
