Jaime before a premiere, Madrid
Tonight my friend Jaime Vaca Quintanilla has the premiere of the second season of the hit series "Física o Química". He called me to be his personal shopper with one basic premise: "I'm a screenwriter, not an actor," which I understood as "Make me look good, but don't put me in a costume". I thought, don't worry, I wouldn't dream of putting you in something by Davidelfín like most of the celebrities in our country do.
So we had to find the right balance between "dress-up" and "dress-down" (going casual), so we played a game of elimination. For example, we decided to rule out a full suit as being too much for a young series, as well as sneakers as being too informal.
A good jacket was essential to emphasize his good figure, and we were lucky to find a wonderful piece by Philippa K that fit him like a glove for a great price (men, look up Philippa, who worked for Prada, designs like Dior, and has reasonable prices. She's perfect).
So we made the jacket the key piece of the look and built everything else around it with details. The tie, for example, is a wonderful purple satin that makes you want to yank it off because it's so soft (well, that was the effect we were going for), the cufflinks discreet but in the same tone as the tie, the silk pocket square in a strong tone to act as a flower and give that aura of a classic elegant man (a dandy, among ourselves), the shoes and belt good, but discreet—it's not their day to be the main focus.

Anyway, I sincerely believe that he looks gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous, and he should dress like this more often because it suits him very well and he carries it off. But at this point, my work is done, and now he has to decide which of the four finalist options he feels most comfortable and handsome in. Which one do you prefer?
