Style or sloppiness
Last week I ran into this girl in Paris; she caught my attention, I couldn't really explain why. As I went through the photos, I wondered if it could be said that she has style or if she carries sloppiness with grace, if that sloppiness truly exists or if it's a meticulously crafted carelessness. Do you know what I mean? Those friends we all have who reject fashion but wear strategically cut t-shirts to show off the tattoo under their armpit. That dreadlock coiled with silver rings matching the bracelets. Those pants that hang just enough to reveal the underwear...
Come on, hippies, admit it, you also like dressing up, admit it and enjoy it fully, don't you?

A few days later, I connected the photo with another memory I had in my mind: the t-shirts I designed a year ago for my first collection. Since they had to be military style and accompany some very distinctive jackets, I designed them ripped, worn, with some holes. I have witnesses that this happened before Balmain released theirs, I swear, many witnesses, the same ones who, upon seeing the sketches, told me...you're crazy, how are they going to pay you for ripped t-shirts? It's suicide.

Too bad I didn't stick with the ripped bohemian style for the t-shirts, though I don't think they would have been very successful anyway because do we like to look disheveled? Do we carry the sloppy style with grace? I have a feeling that in this country, it's hard for us not to leave home looking perfectly polished.
I'll leave you with an absolute hit that lifts spirits and can lead you to stylistic suicide, if only for a day: Raveonettes - Suicide
La Condesa that never ceases
P.S.: by the way, in the end I did make one of them, but without rips... they were a success, I sold them all
