Sluiz
I feel a strange fascination with AD magazine. Strange because I'm not an interior decorator and I don't even have time to buy decent chairs for the dining room table. In fact, the Consort and I have been fighting for months because neither of us wants to eat on "the stool." Fascinating because, despite the pressing lack of time to decorate, every time one of its issues falls into my hands, I can't help but go through each and every page; it captivates me.
It's more than common to see Ibiza houses decorated with exquisite taste, mixing antiques with industrial aesthetic pieces, whitewashed walls contrasting with colorful bedding, humorous artwork, and an occasional designer piece. One, who is provincial despite being aristocratic, always asks the same question when she sees these houses...." And these people who aren't from Ibiza, do they have all their furniture and other details sent from the mainland? How much must shipping cost? Because in the shops in Ibiza, all I've ever seen are pure Buddhas, zen sand gardens, and other tacky things. Where do they get everything? And why do all the houses look alike if each one belongs to different people?"
Finally, this weekend my ignorance was answered. Sluiz, darling, Sluiz.

All kinds of outdoor furniture that you can customize to your liking with their fabric and color chart.

The interior of the store is a perfect exhibition of the best visual merchandising. You want to take EVERYTHING.

In addition to furniture, they have crockery and all kinds of details with a great sense of humor. The store's buyer is a genius.

There will always be a place for you now that you don't fit on top of the plasma TV.

Careful, Consort, there are some stuffed animals ambushing you.

Old wardrobes and neon colors. Great combination.

Chairs from the doctor's office when we were kids, reupholstered in African fabrics. It just goes to show you shouldn't throw anything away in this life; you have to embrace your inner magpie, keep everything, and get creative.

These two photos are simply because the Consort hadn't been featured in a while, and it was his turn. Ole.

As I said, if you go to Ibiza, don't miss this store; it's quite an experience. You leave wanting to take that darn stool and reupholster it in bright colors... or throw it away forever.
