The DJ got us falling in love again
I am very picky about music, VERY picky. For me, it's the most important thing at a party, in a club, what defines whether I can truly get along with someone or if we'll stay on a superficial level, what makes a dinner at a friend's house magical, what etches unforgettable sensations into your brain, what gives you strength when you thought you were going home, what wakes you up on the bus to work, what makes you think life is beautiful when you look at the sky, and what keeps you focused and isolated in a noisy office. Music. But for all that to happen, it has to be the ideal music at the ideal moment.
I'm so picky that at a gathering, even if it's not at my house, I'm capable of getting up and changing the music if what they're playing is annoying me. Among my friends, I'm the bane of "please let's play music from after the year 2000." I can't stand those who are stuck on what they listened to 20 years ago and aren't curious about new releases because, according to them, "there's nothing like 80s music." What?! Seriously, you haven't moved past synthesizers and pounding drums? You have to evolve, and just as you don't dress like you did 10 years ago, you shouldn't keep listening to the same thing as in the last decade, beyond a melancholic Sunday where you decide to listen to your CD collection.

Last night a DJ saved my life
All this rambling is so you understand why, in our wedding budget, one of the most expensive items was the DJ. For us, it was FUNDAMENTAL that the music be good, that it NOT be cheesy party music under any circumstances (ugh, that word makes my stomach turn), and that it make all ages dance. No easy task, but that's why we hired Julio Torres, and last week, watching the wedding video for the first time, I thanked heaven for every cent invested because the background music throughout the video is fantastic. Bravo, Julio.
Right now, the guy is tearing it up. I talk to him, and he's DJing at Missoni, then at high-society weddings (like mine, of course, ahem), then in Gstaad, then at a luxury car event... in short, he has become the most sought-after DJ in Madrid, and I assure you he deserves it.

God is a DJ
Also, since we became friends, he asked me to design a special jacket for him, with fur like Jimi Hendrix's (you have to see the influence my friend Jimi has on me, and I'm not really devoted to him, I need to get into it), only in this case it's fake fur, and I'm amazed at the quality and colors they come in today. The result is this jacket that he wears to all events and which is one of my most effective promotional items. After each party, he calls me to tell me who has asked about the jacket. The last time it was Alberto of Monaco in Gstaad, and I'm dying with excitement (and laughter) imagining Alberto calling me to make his royal wedding attire. Yes, yes, yes, please, Alberto... call me.
Give lots of kisses and lots of hugs, because it's the day of loooove,
La Condesa DJ (I'd love to be a DJ, but a really good one, not these silly celebrity DJs that play three underground screaming tracks and are happy with that, no, not like that)
PS: Oh, I have an open Spotify account if anyone wants to follow my playlists. They're not a big deal, but you might find some surprises. I think the profile is La Condesa Conde
