1% Gori de Palma

The fun thing about fashion shows is that you can see a proposal based on the most exquisite luxury as much as a defiant one. Thus, we go from Alvarno to Gori de Palma, physically separated by a few meters in their off-site shows but in completely opposite universes regarding aesthetics. And it's all fashion, both of them, embraced by that mother we love so much and call fashion (speaking of mothers, I'm eager to see mine, call your mothers, right now, stop reading nonsense and call your mother, now).

Gori de Palma (I love the name) presented a collection that reflects on the aesthetic values of dissident groups (that 1% of the population who don't watch Mad Men or know how to spell Carrie and therefore... we always ignore), specifically about the first American biker gangs that emerged in the 50s.

I had never seen a designer so calm on the job, giving instructions to the models just before they went out. Perhaps he seemed calm but he shouldn't have been, especially because apparently one of them rebelled at the last minute and refused to go out in the clothes she had been assigned. Outfits were exchanged between the models as quickly as they could, but the young dissident ended up getting flustered and went out on the runway in a transparent black bodysuit that was too small and unbuttoned, which is to say, she went out on the runway buck naked, with biker boots and an angry face. How great! Those who were there were probably as confused as I was, but unfortunately, I'm not going to show you the photo because the young dissident is so rebellious that she stopped going to the gym to do squats and it wouldn't look good on the blog. No, you know this blog is very refined, very refined indeed, and I don't post anything that's unpleasant to the eye.

Designer Carlos Díez in the front row, we don't know if he was ecstatic about the collection or annoyed by my camera; it's possible it was both.

Aside from the deliberately tense atmosphere (the live music was by a group called Der Ventilator, who probably call themselves that because they produce the same noise as their name), there were several leather and waterproof cotton "chupas" (jackets) that I really liked; I would happily wear them. Perfect clothes for going to concerts or festivals, those places where ordinary people dress up to look like dissidents.

Among the models, besides the one in the bodysuit, I noticed a very beautiful girl who, to my surprise, I discovered a few days later is the daughter of one of our favorite stylists in this country...who could it be, who could it be...the answer, in a few moments...
