Monsters, Inc.
Blessed be the art director of Vogue USA, Grace Coddington, Anna Wintour, or whoever it is that proposes editorials like the one I'm showing you today, which end up being published in the magazine to the total glory of its readers.
The editorial in question is from quite a while ago (I'm in elimination mode, shedding pounds of magazines and keeping only the most inspiring pages), and although its ultimate function is to show us the most remarkable accessories of the season, instead of doing so with still life compositions or languid models in impossible poses, they have preferred to turn to the artist Nick Cave and his "Soundsuits."
Nick Cave is an artist, dancer, and sculptor, who gained international fame through the sculptures shown in the photos. These are made from all kinds of recycled, colorful materials, reminiscent of African masks, although their most striking feature is that they can be worn.
I don't know what you think of them (what do you think?), but I love them. Above all, it seems to me an incredibly fun and original way to show fashion, united with art, so that when we browse a magazine, we not only see beautiful objects but also learn a little more and give our eyes a visual feast.
Hugs for getting back to work,
La Condesa wants her own Soundsuit.
