Inspiring Businesses IV: La Central de Callao

A couple of weeks ago we visited the new branch of La Central bookstores. I know three of them, but this one is undoubtedly the most spectacular. It is located in an old mansion next to Callao square and, in addition to the 70,000 volumes it houses, it offers an experience that goes beyond the conventional bookstore.

Original gifts, a carefully curated selection of delicacies, foosball, a bar, a reading area with views of the bell tower, frescoes that frame the works, and a cafe with authentic delights make it a very appealing plan to rest from the chaotic Christmas shopping on Madrid's Gran Vía. The place is a real luxury. Impeccable taste. A lot of courage to open such a bookstore in the digital age, but, as I say, La Central is much more than a bookstore, it's a place to go and stay, you have to experience it.
