In Praise of Champagne
Sometimes it might seem that I advocate for champagne consumption, and that's right, my friends, that's right, but not because I believe one should drink good alcohol just for the sake of it, but because I firmly believe that every small victory should be celebrated. And when it comes to toasting to celebrate, you can't deny that champagne is the most wonderful thing.
A long time ago (gods, we're starting to be old friends, aren't we?) I told you about some of the most notorious mistakes from the beginning of La Condesa. Believe me when I tell you that I still make mistakes, oh yes! And those who work with me do too, absolutely! But since we're not in Gattaca, they're inevitable, so I've learned to take them much, much more calmly. What does this lead us to? To the fact that on days when nothing has gone spectacularly wrong, it's worth toasting to celebrate.
Toasting because we are still standing after two and a half years of a formal business and almost four years as an informal seamstress. Toasting because this month we paid the rent on time. Toasting because it turns out we have a connection with other cultures and are liked in Dubai and Casablanca. Toasting because the child is happy sliding down the slides. Toasting because I've had two consecutive weekends off work. Toasting because one of my favorite emails, starting with "Transfer notification," has arrived. Toasting because we continue to hug each other, breaking our ribs with love.
There are many reasons to toast, sometimes I even forget them myself, that's why it's good to have something to toast with handy in the fridge to remind you.
