Great track 2: Vampire Weekend - Step

I am probably the only person happy that the sun and heat haven't arrived yet. I don't share that desire, nor do I quite understand why people in huge cities without a sea share it. I'm sure that those same people who plague Twitter and Instagram with wishes and invocations to the sun god will be informing the world in two weeks that they are hot and are going to die evaporated on the sidewalk.

To commemorate this Sunday, which may be the last of cloudy skies and stay-at-home weather, I leave you with the following song from Vampire Weekend's new album. It's so beautiful it melts in your mouth. I warn New York lovers that watching the video might fill you with overwhelming nostalgia. This summer we're not going to the US for vacation, and it's going to be very hard for me. I want to save up and go for a few days with Gabi and Lila to NY, see the Punk exhibition at the Met, have a drink on a terrace overlooking Central Park, and get a micro-tattoo of an anchor somewhere on my body. I'm distraught. I woke up a couple of hours ago and cut my own hair, something I said I wouldn't do. Maybe it's true that we need a little sun.

The lyrics of the song allow for all kinds of interpretations; my favorite is that "the girl" is their music and they celebrate that with the previous album, they were showered with criticism and praise, but now the critics have hung up their gloves and they are more jaded, they care less about what people say. How do you interpret it?

For Spotify lovers (I'm Premium again and I'm happy), here's the link to add it to playlists:
